Puma "Hausmüster" Factory Sample Sword Hilt. These sword hilts, recently obtained in Germany, were produced by the Puma-Werke, Lauterjung & Sohn Company, and are complete with puma head inside diamond TM, black celluloid grips with wire wrap, black buffer pads, and 5" of the plated blade with rounded tip. Blades are engraved with the Puma sword pattern number. See pages 192-193 of Volume I of Collecting the Edged Weapons of the Third Reich for examples of factory sample sword hilts. The following sword hilts are available:


" Army Lion Head Sword Hilt Pattern No. 5. Gilted brass hilt fittings show only faint wear with virtually 100% of the factory fire gilting remaining to both highlights and recesses of the lion head pommel with red glass eyes, heavily-chased oak leaf backstrap, knuckle-bow and ferrule, as well as open-wing eagle with hand-enhanced features on obverse langet. Underside of crossguard is "Ges.Gesch" marked. Black celluloid grip is perfect with no cracks or chips and with tight twisted triple wire wrap. Plated, 5" portion of blade grades excellent+/excellent++, with light age, one speck of lifting, is double marked with Pattern "No. 5", and complete with brown leather blade buffer pad. " Army Dove Head Sword Hilt Pattern No. 33. Gilted brass hilt fittings show only faint wear with virtually 100% of factory gilting remaining to both highlights and recesses of heavily-chiseled oak leaf pommel, knuckle-bow and ferrule, as well as closed-wing Wehrmacht eagle on obverse langet. Black celluloid grip is perfect with no cracks or chips and with tight twisted triple wire wrap. Plated 5" portion of blade grades excellent++ showing only light surface age, is marked, "No. 33", and complete with brown leather blade buffer pad.
