SS-EM Collar Tabs. These MINT/Unissued, right collar tabs were recently obtained from the family of WWII Colonel Charles H. Reed, Commander of 2nd Cavalry Group, who was instrumental in rescuing the famous Lippizäner stallions in the closing days of WWII. Tabs feature silver-gray cotton thread insigne on un-piped, black wool background. Reverse is without paper SS/RZM tag and tabs grade MINT/Unissued with no wear or moth damage.

SS-Gas Protection/Training NCO Speciality Badge. This MINT/Unissued, sleeve insigne as pictured on page 426, center left of Cloth Insignia of the SS by LTC (Ret.) John R. Angolia, was recently obtained from the family of WWII Colonel Charles H. Reed, Commander of 2nd Cavalry Group, who was instrumental in rescuing the famous Lippizäner stallions in the closing days of WWII. Insigne features an M-1930 Gas Mask in machine-embroidered, silver-gray thread on a round, black wool background. Reverse is without paper SS/RZM tag, insigne grades MINT/Unissued with no wear or moth damage. MINT (24714) $80.

 

Osttürkische Waffen-Verband der SS Cuff-Band. This MINT/Unissued, cuff-band as pictured on page 404, center of Cloth Insignia of the SS by LTC (Ret.) John R. Angolia, was recently obtained from the family of WWII Colonel Charles H. Reed, Commander of 2nd Cavalry Group, who was instrumental in rescuing the famous Lippizäner stallions in the closing days of WWII. The Osttürkische Waffen-Verband der SS cuff-band. was authorized in 1944 to recognize the Muslim origins of the volunteers in this unit, however there is no evidence that it was ever issued. The unissued cuff-band is constructed of Be-Vo woven, lime-green fabric with the inscription, "Osttürkische Waffen-Verband der SS" in silver-gray letters with silver-gray machine-edging on upper and lower edges. Army Gegbirgsjäger Edelweiss Sleeve Insigne/Badge. Gray cloth oval badge features a machine embroidered, cotton thread, white edelweiss flower, green leaves, and yellow stamen surrounded by a gray mountaineers rope with a knot at the bottom drawn through a white mountaineer's piton at the top. MINT/Unissued (23557 - 2 available) $65.@

 

Unissued Army Pattern Sports Vest Emblem. These vest emblems were recently obtained from the estate of WWII veteran PFC Vernon L. Briggs of Middletown, CT. The emblem features a large 24cm x 11cm machine woven black open wing eagle looking to his left on a white half oval. See page 81, lower, of Uniforms and Traditions of the German Army 1933-1945, Volume II by John R. Angolia and Adolf Schlicht for a photograph of this style emblem worn on the front center of the sports vest. MINT, Unissued (21987) $35.

 

Original "Grossdeutschland" Cuffband. This superb quality cuffband was recently obtained in German from the son of the original owner, and was further authenticated by three experienced uniform accouterment collectors at the MAX 2000 Show in Pittsburgh. For additional information on this rare pattern cuffband, see pages 72 - 79 of German Military Cuffbands 1784-Present by Gordon Williamson and Thomas McGuirl. This 3rd pattern cuffband, introduced on 7 October 1940, features the hand-embroidered word, "Grossdeutschland" in German Sütterlin script on a high-quality black wool/cloth band edged in 3mm wide aluminum wire Russian braid. Cuffband shows only light age with no mothing or fraying to the bullion, and appears to have been carefully removed from a uniform. Superb original example. Exc++/Near MINT (19985) $1,450.


Third Reich State Forestry Official Tunic. This tunic, constructed of Forestry green tricot/elastique features dark green velvet collar, two upper pleated pockets, and two lower pockets with slanted pocket flaps, turn-back cuffs and silver pebbled buttons. Collar is edged in twisted aluminum bullion piping and complete with oak leaf embellished collar patches and green woven shoulder straps with one silver acorn on green velvet backings for the rank of Revierförster. Turn-back cuffs, upper and lower pocket flaps, and front panel are piped in dark green wool. Interior without tailor's label or name of original owner features Forestry green cotton lining. Tunic is complete with loops for medal bar and slit above lower left pocket flap for Forestry Hirschfanger. Interior of tunic shows only light surface wear with no rips or tears, while exterior tunic shows light wear with several small moth nips/holes to lower right sleeve and cuff. RARE Original Armed Forces Traffic Directorate Brussels Cuffband. This superb quality cuff band was recently obtained from a long established, mid-west collection. An illustration of this RARE pattern cuff-band, introduced on 13 February 1941, appears on plate 29 of Badges & Insignia of the Third Reich by Brian Leigh Davis. As stated on page 66 of the above reference, this cuff-band was worn by German Railway Officials for only seven months before it was withdrawn and replaced by the commonly seen arm badges. The band measuring 40mm in width features the machine embroidered inscription, "Wehrmacht - Verkehrsdirektion Brüssel" (Armed Forces Traffic Directorate Brussels) in yellow block letters on a black woven band edged in 3mm wide woven, yellow borders. The unissued band, measuring 40cm in length, grades MINT with no wear or age. Superb original example of a RARE cuffband. MINT/Unissued (24143) $435.
