Officer Dagger. No maker. This later production
dagger features nickel-plated hilt fittings showing
light surface wear/age patina to the well detailed
pommel, ferrule, and generic pattern crossguard
with small slope to the brow area between the upper
head and beak of the eagle. Off-white, plaster filled,
celluloid grip shows light surface wear with nice
age toning, but no cracks or chips. Polished blade
grades EX++/Near MINT showing faint runner marks
where runners have rested against flats of blade
and minor shadowing near tip, but no nicks to cutting
edges. Blade is complete with brown leather blade
buffer pad. Dent-free, nickel-plated, generic scabbard
shows light surface wear with light age patina and
excellent detail to the pebbled panels. Lower obverse
scabbard shows two some light surface oxidation
to edges with thin throat, one reverse, flush-mounted
headless screw and distinctive, well-defined oak
leaf scabbard bands as found on generic scabbards.
Nice later production dagger with generic fittings
