Uncleaned Army Officer's Dagger w/Deluxe Hangers. Carl Eickhorn, etched squirrel holding sword TM. Silver-plated hilt fittings show dark, age patina to well detailed oak leaf embellished pommel, ferrule and crossguard with Eickhorn 2nd pattern eagle. Medium orange, solid celluloid grip shows minor surface wear a tiny hairline crack to the edge of one grip swirl on the upper obverse with nice age toning in the recesses of the grip swirls. Plated blade grades Exc++ showing only faint surface wear/runner marks, but no pitting, graying or nicks to cutting edges and is complete with dark brown leather blade buffer pad. Silver-plated scabbard shows age patina to shell with portions of factory lacquer on edges and is complete with the beveled, first-style, suspension bands and two flat-head throat retaining screws as found on early Eickhorn production Army daggers. Scabbard shows light wear with one faint depression to lower obverse shell. Deluxe hangers grade Exc+ showing wear to fabric and dark, age patina heavy oak leaf embellished, buckles, slides and D.R.G.M. marked upper fitting. Included with the dagger is a an original Army Wehrpass named to Karl Hirth who was born in Munich on 01 May 1894. Exc+/Exc++ (24744) $850.
