Long KS/98 Bayonet w/Double-Etched
Blade, Retailer's Mark, Frog & Portepee.
Carl Eickhorn, Squirrel holding Sword stamped TM.
Nickel plated over gray metal hilt fittings show
only minor wear/age/patina with red felt plug is
in the pommel slot. The black bakelite grips are
perfect. The plated blade is excellent with only
minor runner marks/ age. The plated blade measuring
24.7cm in length grades EX+ showing minor runner
marks/age, but no pitting or nicks to cutting edges.
Obverse blade features Carl Eickhorn etch pattern
Nr. 3220 with a ribbon band and standard remembrance
of service time motto surrounded by oak leaves with
raised oak leaf wreath, stahlhelm and crossed rifles
at tip end and Wehrmacht eagle at ricasso end of
the etched panel. Obverse ricasso is stamped with
the two-line, retailer's mark, "Peter Kolb
Amberg". Reverse blade features Carl Eickhorn
etch pattern Nr. 3223 inscribed in raised Gothic
letters "Infanterie Regiment No 41 Amberg,
Bayr. Ostmark". Blade retains 100% of the light
gray background frosting in the etched panels and
is complete with brown leather blade buffer pad.
Dent-free, steel scabbard retains approximately
80% of the original black enamel. The black leather,
foru-rivet, double-stitcheed frog grades EX++ showing
minor wear/ age with reverse stamped, "L. Krumm
Langfeldt, Offenback a. Main.and above 1941".
The green/silver NCO portepee grades VG+ showing
age/wear and appears original to the frog. Superior
