Uncleaned Government Official Dagger w/Portepee & Hangers. Alcoso Solingen, ACS Scales TM. Silver-plated hilt fittings with uniform dark, age patina show minor surface wear to the eagle head pommel, backstrap, ferrule and crossguard, with much factory darkening remaining in recesses of pommel and crossguard. Simulated mother-of-pearl grip plates have age toned to a uniform off-white color, and are perfect, with no cracks, chips, or damage. Mirror polished blade grades EX++/Near MINT showing light surface wear/runner marks with a few specks of gray shadowing where runners have rested against flats of blade, but no pitting or nicks to cutting edges, and is complete with original dark blue felt blade buffer pad. Dent-free, silver-plated scabbard shows age patina matching the hilt fittings, with no lifting or speckling, and with superb detail to the pebbling and to the oak leaf suspension bands. Included with the dagger is an original Army pattern, 42cm in EX condition showing minor weqar and a spot or fraying to the cord. The hangers grading EX++ are constructed of silver herringbone pattern aluminum bullion facings on navy blue velvet backings, are complete with gilded aluminum upper fitting, buckles, slides, and lower clips. Fittings show surface wear to the upper fitting and lower clips with virtually 100% of gilding remaining on buckles and slides with no age or damage to bullion or wear to velvet backings. Nice Government Official dagger combination with all accouterments and period storage case. NOTE: JRB&M has not, and will not, disassemble this dagger to inspect for internal markings.
