Czechoslovak Air Force Dagger w/Scabbard
Personalization.Wlasztovits Stos TM. An example
of this dagger appears on page 79 of World of Dress
Daggers 1900-1945 by Robert J. Berger. Gilded matte-finished
hilt fittings show light surface wear and age patina
to square-shaped pommel and to the upturned crossguard
with obverse and reverse center crossguard having
a raised lion of Bohemia. White imitation ivory
grip plates show light surface wear with no cracks
or chips. Polished blade grades EX++, with light
runner marks to the lower half of the double-edged
diamond cross-section blade, but no nicks to cutting
edges and virtually all of the cross graining remaining.
Brass scabbard is missing the original brown leather
covering and shows several depressions on obverse/reverse
shell and to the lower scabbard fitting. The reverse
shell features deeply chased personalization in
stylized letters that are difficult to decipher.
The lower scabbard fitting is affixed with a separate
"swing free" device that attaches to the
uniform trousers. Rare Czech dagger with personalization.
