Miniature Imperial Naval Dagger w/Ivory Grip & Chain Hanger. No maker. This miniature Imperial Naval dagger measuring approximately 4 ¾" in length is complete with gold, double chain, watch fob style hanger with upper suspension ring, and is similar to the miniature dagger worn by Mr. Thomas Wittmann at the annual MAX Shows. Gilded-brass hilt fittings show light surface wear to the closed crown style pommel, with much frosting remaining in the recesses in the recesses of the crossguard with fouled anchor motif on guillon block. Genuine ivory grip shows light surface wear/age toning with one crack on the left side running the length of the grip. Plated stiletto blade grades EX, showing speckling to the plating on the obverse/reverse ricassos and lifting to the obverse/reverse tip, but no nicks or damage to the tip. Blade is without buffer pad. Gilded lightning bolt scabbard with plain scabbard bands shows minor surface wear with 100% of the gilding remaining. Dagger is complete with original miniature silver bullion portepee showing dark age patina. Nice miniature dagger with watch fob style hanger. EX+/EX++ (25829) $750.
