TENO EM Hewer w/Frog.Carl Eickhorn, etched squirrel holding sword TM. Nickel plated hilt fittings show some lifting and loss of plating primarily to the reverse pommel and crossguard. Both the pommel cogwheel motif and the TENO pattern eagle on the crossguard langet retain portions of the factory darkening. White celluloid grip plates are perfect with no cracks or chips and retaining screws appear unturned. Polished blade grades EX+ showing surface wear/runner marks with minor gray speckling primarily where scabbard runners have rested against the flats of blade, but no nicks to cutting edge, and is complete with black leather blade buffer pad. Reverse upper blade is marked with the etched TENO pattern eagle and "Ges.Gesch", while the obverse blade is marked with the stamped TENO serial number, "0067". Dent-free steel scabbard retains approximately 90% of the original black factory enamel, with minor wear/crazing/scratches to the obverse/reverse shell, but no major loss of paint. Upper and lower nickel-plated scabbard fittings show only light surface wear to the original brushed finish, with no dents, depressions, or damage. Scabbard throat is stamped with the matching serial number, "0067" and scabbard screws are undamaged. The black leather hanger grades EX++ showing only faint wear/age to leather and no damage to the often ripped or torn grip strap. Nickel-plated suspension clip is Assmann marked on the reverse and double stitching shows no wear or damage. For more information on TENO sidearms see pages 38 - 65 of Collecting the Edged Weapons of the Third Reich, Volume VII. Nice TENO Hewer complete with hanger. Rare TENO hewer with undamaged hanger. EX+ (26053) $4,200.
