RARE "Reichsführerschulen der HJ in Mehlem"
Silver-Plate Flatware. Under the supervision of
the Reichsjugendführer Baldur von Schirach,
Reichsführerschulen were established at Potsdam
and Mehlem (10km South of Bonn on the Rhein River)
to provide specialized training for HJ Leaders.
Upon successful completion of the training, graduates
were authorized to wear a special insigne over the
right breast tunic pocket. This insigne consisted
of a silver embroidered bar of oak leaves with the
initials, "RFS" outlined in black surmounting
the oak leaves. This RARE, silver-plate, "RFS"
flatware, recently obtained in Germany, grades Near
MINT/Mint with only minor surface wear, but no damage
to knife blades or fork tines. All handles are jeweler
engraved on the plain, obverse, upper end with a
facsimile of the HJ diamond emblem above the "RFS"
initials while the reverse handles are jeweler engraved,
"Mehlem". The 4-piece place settings consist
or a dinner fork, coffee spoon, soup spoon (handles
marked "Hansaat 90") and dinner knife
(handle marked, "90"; blade marked, ".NR").
Included with the flatware are photocopies of a
portion of the Hitler Youth organizational chart
illustrating the direct line of control between
the Reichsjugendführer and the RFS in Potsdam
and Mehlem as well as the female schools at Potsdam
and Godesberg. Extremely RARE, monogrammed flatware
pattern used by only one school in the National-Socialist
