colored bust of a German soldier wearing an M-16
Stahlhelm with raised national shield and eagle/swastika
emblems atop a gray marble base measuring 2 ½"W
X 2 7/8"H. The bust shows light age with one

Corps 11th Company, Infantry Regiment Aschaffenburg
- 1938). Research in Das Deutsche Heer 1939 and
HEERESEINTEILUNG 1939 reveals that Infantry Regiment
106 was part of the 15th Infantry Division which
was headquartered in Frankfurt (Main). In his book,
"HITLER'S LEGIONS The German Army Order of
Battle, World War II, Samuel W. Mitcham, Jr. states
that the 15th Infantry Division was formed in 1935
- 36 and first saw heavy action in the 1941 Russian
campaign. After being rotated to France the division
was ordered back to Russia in early 1943. The Division
suffered heavy losses in 1943 - 44 and by March
1945 it was reportedly in remnants. The end of the
war found 15th Division in the large pocket east
of Prague where is surrendered. The above referenced
documentation is included with the commemorative.
Nice presentation desk-top commemorative with superb
detail to the Deutche Soldat figure. EX++ (26097)
