Solid single-piece polished steel letter opener measuring 7 5/8" in length shows overall surface wear to pommel grip with incised grooves crossguard and blade. Child's Military Back Pack. Post-war, probably 1950's/60's production back-pack features splinter-pattern, two-piece back-pack with securing straps. Attached to back-pack by straps are a gray-green felt blanket and a splinter-pattern "shelter-half". Back-pack shows only faint wear/age with minor "mothing" to blanket. Back-pack measures 11" Wide X 7 ½" High X 4 ½" Deep. Unique child's uniform item. (T-001) $145.

 

 

 

RARE Miniature Luftwaffe Flying Unit Flag for use on a Desk or Officer's Mess Table.A color illustration of this pattern Luftwaffe organizational flag appears in page 108 of Flags and Standards of the Third Reich - Army, Navy and Air Force by Brian Lee Davis. The double-sided miniature flag is constructed of linen-weave cotton and measures 15cm x 13.5cm (including fringe) and is attached to a stiffened backing. The left side of the flag features a printed white disc surrounded by a printed garland of silver/grey-colored oak leaves gathered at the bottom by two lengths of printed silver/grey-colored ribbon. Set in the center of the garland is a printed black Iron Cross edged with two rows of printed silver/grey separated by a narrow printed black stripe. The right side of the flag features the same white printed disc but with a printed silver/grey-colored laurel leaf garland gathered at the bottom by two lengths of printed silver/grey-colored ribbon. Set in the center of the garland is a printed silver/grey-colored Luftwaffe eagle clutching in its talons a silver/grey swastika with the wing feathers extending over the garland and into the gold/yellow flag cloth. From the four corners of both the left and right sides, extending to the silver/grey-colored garland are four printed, white, tapering black edged beams or wedges. On the outer edge of each beam/wedge is a printed black swastika bordered by black/white printed stripes on each swastika arm. Attached to the fly edges of the flag is a 1cm wide border of white artificial silk fringe. The flag is attached to a 35.5cm tall steel/gray painted flagpole (6mm diameter wooden dowel) topped by a blue/green painted ball-type finial. The flag grades EX++ showing minor age, but no rips or RARE miniature Luftwaffe desk-top flag recently obtained in Germany. EX++ (26172) $850.

 

 

 

Third Reich Army Presentation Desk-Top Commemorative on Marble Base. This desk-top commemorative comprised of a 3 ¾"H X 3"W bronze colored bust of a German soldier wearing an M-16 Stahlhelm with raised national shield and eagle/swastika emblems atop a gray marble base measuring 2 ½"W X 2 7/8"H. The bust shows light age with one spot of damage to the top of the Stahlhelm, but no cracks or chips. The marble base shows light wear/age with one small chip to the upper, front left corner, but no cracks while the underside of the base shows light wear, but appears to have never been covered with a felt or flocked backing. Attached to the front of the base is a brass presentation plaque inscribed, "Ufz. Korps 11./ J.R. 106 Aschaffenburg - 1938" (Non-Commissioned Officer's Corps 11th Company, Infantry Regiment Aschaffenburg - 1938). Research in Das Deutsche Heer 1939 and HEERESEINTEILUNG 1939 reveals that Infantry Regiment 106 was part of the 15th Infantry Division which was headquartered in Frankfurt (Main). In his book, "HITLER'S LEGIONS The German Army Order of Battle, World War II, Samuel W. Mitcham, Jr. states that the 15th Infantry Division was formed in 1935 - 36 and first saw heavy action in the 1941 Russian campaign. After being rotated to France the division was ordered back to Russia in early 1943. The Division suffered heavy losses in 1943 - 44 and by March 1945 it was reportedly in remnants. The end of the war found 15th Division in the large pocket east of Prague where is surrendered. The above referenced documentation is included with the commemorative. RARE US Army Training Aid Model of a German Sd.Kfz. 231 Heavy Armored Reconnaissance Vehicle. This was US Army Training Aid Model was recently obtained from the grandson of WWII veteran, T/5 Gaylord B. Peterson who served in the European Theater with the 5th Armored Division. The heavy cast metal model grades EX+ showing light wear to the original olive drab enamel, but no dents of cracks. The vehicle measures 5 ¾" long x 2 7/8" wide x 2 ¾" high and features 8 cast wheels with mudguards, metal body with non-revolving turret and simulated gun. The rear of the vehicle is marked in cast letters, "GER.HEAVY 8 WHEELED ARMOR.CAR". During WWII the United States Armed Forces produced and used many model ground, sea and air vehicles for identification training as well as "sand table" exercises. Nice veteran estate obtained WWII artifact. EX+ (26151) $85.

 

 

 

 

Luftwaffe Wedding Studio Portrait. Black & white photograph measuring 6 ¾" X 9" (matted size 10 ¾" X 14 ¾") depicts a wedding couple in a formal standing pose. The groom, a Stabsfeldwebe,l as indicated by his shoulder straps, wears his Luftwaffe blue-gray service tunic with early pattern national emblem with the down-turned tail and German National Sports Badge. On the lower left tunic sleeve is the Gothic "S" specialty badge for motor vehicle administrators (Schirrmeister [K]). Attached to an under-the-tunic belt is a 1st Model Luftwaffe Dagger complete with 23cm portepee in correct tie. Reverse photograph is hand inscribed, "Am 2.. Mai 1936" and stamped in the lower reverse corner, "Hans Stadler Glasfoto FURTH i.Bayern". Excellent uniform edged weapon study. Minor age to matte with no damage to the photograph. Nürnberg Party Day Commemorative Wall Plaque. Black stained wooden base measuring 11" x 7 3/8" features a 7 ¾" x 5 ¼" silver metal plaque with raised bust facsimile of a military figure in open style tunic with necktie and M-1916 Stalhelm with raised Wehrmacht Adler on the left side. Beneath the military figure is a 2 1/8" long x 1" wide silver commemorative plaque with the inscription in Latin letters, "Reichsparteitag Nürnberg 8.-14.Sept.36". Wooden base shows some wear to black stain, but no cracks or chips with age patina and a few faint surface depressions to the helmet edges of silver military figure facsimile. Silver commemorative plaque shows light age patina but no damage. Base is complete with a bored hole in the upper reverse to attach the plaque to wall. Nice Nürnberg Party Day Commemorative item recently obtained in Germany.

Silver Garde Uhlan Helmet Desk Ornament. This superbly detailed desk ornament was recently obtained in Germany. Ornament is comprised of a miniature silver-plated Garde Uhlan (Tschapska) measuring approximately 4" in diameter and 2 ¾" in height with a 3/8" square "mortarboard" top complete with cockade. Helmet features a Prussian eagle front plate with Garde Star and is complete with detailed convex chin scales. Helmet sits atop a crossed lance & Uhlan pattern Saber. Helmet shows only light wear/age with no loss of plating, with one tiny peck on the underside of the mortarboard. Rare Garde Uhlan desk ornament in superb condition! Rare Hausser Toy Kruppe Limber (Tractor Vehicle). An illustration of this rare toy vehicle appears on page 12 as item 730N in the 1939-40 "Hausser Elastolin Spielzug" as reprinted in "The War Toys-Kriegsspielzuenge, The Story of Hausser-Elastolin" by Reggie Polaine, published 1979. Metal toy Kruppe L2L 43 "Krupp-Protze" (Kruppe-Limber) as used to tow anti-tank or flak guns grades excellent++/Near MINT with no wear or age to the original olive drab enamel. Limber measures 26cm long x 11cm wide x 8.5cm high and is complete with nine rubber-tired wheels (6 road wheels and three spare wheels). Electric lights with battery compartment and original wiring, moveable turn indicators, steering, operable ammunition storage boxes, and the rare, often missing wooden planks carried to assist the vehicle through battlefield mud. Vehicle is accompanied by its original Elastolin composite figure, a 6-man crew sitting in the vehicle. The crew is wearing Feldgrau service uniforms complete with helmets and rifles showing virtually no wear or age to the painted finish. Superb example of a rare Hausser war toy complete with all accouterments recently obtained in Germany. Near MINT (23072) $3,000.

Third Reich Pocket Knife w/Swastika Insert. . "Solingen" stamped on ricasso. Knife measures 4 ½" in length when closed and features dark brown wooden grip plates w/3-rivets on each side and plated butt plate. Blade grades VG+/Exc. showing uniform darkening with several nicks to cutting edge and on nick to spine and has been retipped resulting in an approximate ½" reduction in length. Inset into the obverse grip plate is a 7/16" diameter nickel disc and incised swastika. Exc. (25083) $250.

 

 

(Deutsche Arbeitsfront - DAF) Deluxe/Presentation Miner's Hammer. Stamped twins, (J.A.Henckels AG, Zwillingswerk) Solingen TM. This unique item features an ornate, gold-plated, etched/blued, Miner's hammer head attached to a 9" long dark brown wooden handle. The head features a rectangular center block with the name, "Eickhoff" in raised gilt letters on a blued background inside a gilt floral border on one side and the four-line inscription, "Wo Kuolen Liegt Un Eken Wasst Do Wasst OK Lü De Dobi Passt" in raised gilt letters on the other side. Both the hammer end and the spike end of the head are etched with gilt/blued floral designs. The striking end of the head features a raised, gilt stylized "E" (possibly for Eickhoff). Attached to the handle is metal swastika/cogwheel DAF insigne. The head shows some wear to the gilting with minor wear to the handle which a professionally drilled hole near the end (probably used to attach the hammer to a hook or hanging device). This hammer was probably presented to a Miner by the local DAF organization. Nice, maker marked commemorative or presentation item. Exc+ (24589) $2,295.

 

Commercial Serving Knife/Spatula. Gottlieb Hammesfahr, Solingen, Foche, Cross on pyramid beside three-line inscription above "NIROSTA" inside single horizontal oval TM. The Gottlieb Hammesfahr was one of the largest Solingen cutlery firms and specialized I drop forging. This item features a 1 ¾" wide, flat double-edged serving blade with rounded tip measuring 5 ½" in length. The blade is attached to a 5" long brown wooden grip complete with metal ferrule. Blade and grip show light wear with no nicks to blade nor cracks to grip. Unique item recently obtained in Germany. Exc+ (24583) $65.

Third Reich Time-in-Service Remembrance Plaque. Silver colored plaque measuring 4" X 10 ½" features the raised facsimile of a soldier in field service uniform complete with Stalhelm, belt supporting straps with canteen, bread bag and gas mask in the prone position firing an M-13 Machine Gun with a landscape scene in the back ground. The plaque is attached to a black wooden base complete with a remembrance plaque inscribed, "Zur Erinnerung a. m. Dienstzeit I.R.47 1937/38". Metal plaque and wooden base show virtually no wear. NSKK Equipment/Dispatch Case. Rectangular brown leather case measuring 8 3/8" high x 7 1/8" wide x 3 5/8" deep grades excellent++ showing only light surface wear/age with no damage to the machine stitching. Case is complete with leather-hinged lid with two securing buckles on the obverse and two belt loops on the upper reverse of the body of the case. Exterior lid is marked with a large "6" in black enamel. Interior lid is ink stamped with NSKK pattern eagle emblem flanked by "M" and "O". Also stamped on the interior lid is the 4-line inscription inside a rectangular border, "Nationalsoz. Kraftfahrkorps/Motor Sturm 32 M 81/Regensburg/Geldverwaltung" (NSKK Motor Company 32, Regiment 81, Regensburg, Finance Administration). Well-constructed and well-marked NSKK equipment/dispatch case in superb condition. Exc++ (22915) $245.

 

Kurvenmesser (Map Measuring) Tool w/Original Issue Carton. This tool, recently obtained from the estate of a WWII OSS/CIA operative, is designed to measure map distances in kilometers. Metal tool features a circular (3.5cm diameter) measuring scale for maps 1:25,000 - 1:200,000 attached to a 5.5cm long metal handle and activated by a small wheel rolled across the map surface. Measuring tool is complete with an original black leatherette covered cardboard carton with description of device and operating instructions in the German language. Description indicates that the tool is designed to be used by the military, as well as civilian motorists, sailors, engineers, and architects. Tool shows only light age and is fully operable. Army Award/Commemorative Wall Plaque Metal Device. Metal device measuring 6" in height x 8" in width is a facsimile of an Infantry soldier in field service uniform in kneeling position firing a Mauser rifle. Figure is complete with steel helmet with eagle & swastika, bayonet with portepee, and hobnail boots. Well detailed figure shows light surface wear to darkened factory finish with reverse complete with three threaded attaching lugs. Figure was, most likely, designed to be used for marksmanship or time in service award/commemorative plaques. Exc++ (22804) $195.

 

RAD Remembrance of Service Document. Large 8 ¼" X 11 ¾", off-white, heavy card stock document grades Exc+/Exc++ showing light age with one small tear on center right edge. Document features remembrance of service inscription in red and black gothic letters with large silver/red/black RAD spade and wheat stalk emblem in upper left corner. In the center of the document is a photograph of Arbeitsmann Georg Jung in RAD service uniform with RAD shoulder patch and Swastika armband. The document was awarded for service in 1935 by Abteilung 5, Arbeitsgruppe 208 located in Brilon which is SE of Dortmund. Document is two-hole punched but has not been folded. WKC Bicycle Emblem.
This curved, stamped, triangular- shaped brass metal emblem measuring 1 ¾” wide x 2 ½” long features a central panel with the WKC knight head logo surrounded by the raised inscription, “Patria. WKC Solingen”. Center panel shows light age to brass with much white paint remaining on the recessed portions of the shield. Unique item made by the well- known WKC weapons firm, which manufactured both bicycles and edged weapons. Exc+ (18803) $45.

Stamped brass metal emblem measures approximately 2" in diameter and features a center panel with the WKC knight head logo surrounded by the raised inscription, "Patria.WKC Markenrad". Traces of gilting and paint remain with much age to finish. Unique item made by the well-known WKC weapons firm. VG+ (16918) $35.

Third Reich Navy Sword Candlesticks. Brass candlesticks consist of Third Reich Navy E. & F. Hörster pattern lion head sword hilts with off-white celluloid-over-wood grips complete with wire wrap. Lion head pommels feature glass eyes with fouled anchor motif on clamshell. Hilts are attached to filigreed brass bases and feature approximately 1 ½" long plain plated blades to which are attached brass candleholders. Overall, candlesticks show light age with no damage or lifting to the plating on the blades. The following candlesticks are available:

Third Reich Navy Sword Candlestick. Single brass candlestick consists of a Third Reich Navy Carl Eickhorn Model No. 1670 lion head hilt with off-white celluloid-over-wood grip with tight twisted wire wrap. Lion head pommel features red glass eyes and non-folding clamshell with fouled anchor motif. Hilt is attached to a filigreed brass base and features an approximately 2 1/8" long plain plated blade to which is attached a brass candleholder. Brass hilt retains virtually 100% of the factory lacquer with some minor gray speckling to the plated blade. One candlestick available. Exc++/Near MINT (23134) $350.

2nd Model Naval Dagger Wax Seal.
This unique piece features a Third Reich 2nd model Naval dagger grip and crossguard. Attached through where the blade would go is a long, ornate brass plate with a seal on the bottom for the letter "D". This probably sat on a Naval Officer's desk and was used for placing this seal on letters and documents. Crossguard and pommel show much of the original gilting. Release button is present on the reverse, but is stationary. White celluloid grip does show slight damage, as well as a crack on the obverse. Is complete w/twisted wire wrap. Would make an interesting desk ornament. Exc. (15348) $595.

  RARE Factory Sample Board for Ribbon Lapel Buttons w/Metal Ribbon Devices. This felt-lined card from the firm of Steinhauer & Luck of Ludenscheid has 24 ribbon devices attached. They are each identified with a dealer code number. Manufacturer's small circular company logo is at the bottom. Ribbon devices are included for the Police medal, Army Long Service medal, Luftwaffe Long Service medal, and Party Long Service medal. Has a unique, cloisonné lapel badge for the Luftwaffe Long Service medal. Also, has the miniature Mother's Cross medals. Extremely RARE item! MINT (14246) $795.
Factory Sample Board Featuring Badges, Buttons, and Insignia for the Third Reich Berlin Transit System for the Streetcar Coach and Trolley Car.
Board measures approximately 6 1/2" x 10" and is of heavy stock paper. Has the insignia attached and, at the top, is the gilted Third Reich political eagle. Has the pips for the shoulder straps. Has an oak leaf wreath attached. There are different style buttons, which feature the Berlin crest with crown above and "BVG" (probably for one of the transit uniforms utilized). Has gilted trolley cars, trains, and double-decker buses. There is, also, what appears to be a shoulder strap insignia of the "winged wheel" with a "U". At the bottom is a "BDG" designation.   Third Reich Snare Drum Cover.
Red liner cover measures 37-1/2" long by 13-1/2" wide at widest point. Cover is edged in 1-1/2" white cotton fringe with swastika printed on 5-1/4" white circle in center. Some minor stains at one end and complete with tie strings. Purchased at a yard sale on Long Island. RARE! Exc++ (15603) $650.
