Silver-plated hilt fittings show light surface wear and dark, uncleaned age patina to the pommel and crossguard with portions of lacquer remaining in the recesses and no damage to the black enamel swastikas on the quillon block. Tip of right crossguard is caster stamped, "K". Blue leather-covered grip shows minor surface wear with a small area of missing leather on upper right edge adjacent to pommel. Plated blade grades EX/EX+ showing surface wear/runner marks, light gray shadowing/speckling and three tiny nicks to right cutting edge, but no pitting or damage to blade tip. Blade is complete with original blue leather buffer pad. Blue leather covered scabbard shows minor surface wear with a few minor nips to lower right edge seam, but no major rips, tears or missing leather. Silver-plated upper and lower scabbard fittings show minor surface wear/dark, uncleaned age patina matching the hilt fittings with a few faint depressions to the lower fitting and a small depression/split to the lower ball. Scabbard throat is stamped with the DLV winged propeller with superimplsed swastika. The integral brown leather hanger grades EX++ showing minor wear only with age patina to the nickel-silver retaining planchet and unmarked upper clip. The gray felt storage bag measuring 15 ½" in length grades EX++ showing only faint age with no rips or tears, but without the upper drawstring. Nice DLV knife with DLV marked scabbard throat and RARE storage bag. EX+/EX++ (26213)
