2nd Model Navy Dagger. F. W. Höller, thermometer inside double oval TM. This textbook Höller example was recently obtained in Germany. Gilded brass hilt fittings show no surface wear with 100% of the honey gold factory fire gilding and lacquer remaining on highlights and in the recesses of the eagle/swastika pommel and fouled anchor crossguard with larger-than-normal quillon tips with extended nipples unique to F. W. Höller produced Navy daggers. The off-white celluloid-over-wood grip is perfect with no cracks or chips and is complete with springy style gilt wire as used by Höller. Plated double-etched blade with the Höller pattern fouled anchor and sailing ship etched motif grades EX++/Near MINT showing light runner marks to ricasso and minor gray speckling to the reverse lower blade, but no pitting or nicks to cutting edges. Blade is complete with tan leather as normally found on Höller produced Navy daggers, and retains 100% of the light gray background frosting in the etched motif. Dent-free, gilded brass, lighting bolt scabbard retains 100% of the factory gilding with minor wear to the factory lacquer on the center reverse only. Straight edged Höller pattern scabbard suspension bands feature the thicker rings as normally found on Höller products. Superb textbook Höller example! Near MINT (25480) $1,795 ***SOLD***
