Model Navy Dagger w/Genuine Damascus Blade. No Maker.
Gilded brass hilt fittings show only faint surface
wear to highlights with virtually 100% of the honey
gold factory fire gilding and lacquer remaining
in the recesses of the WKC pattern eagle/swastika
pommel and fouled anchor crossguard as pictured
on pages 269 and 270 of Exploring the Dress
Daggers of the German Navy by Thomas T.
Wittmann. The off-white celluloid-over-wood grip
is perfect with no cracks or chips and is complete
with twisted brass wire. The genuine Damascus blade
grades MINT showing virtually no surface wear, with
no graying, speckling, pitting or nicks to cutting
edges, and is complete with dark blue felt blade
buffer pad. The blade features a double-fuller design
with a combination peacock pattern transitioning
to maiden hair design on the lower blade/tip. Dent-free,
gilded brass, lighting bolt Eickhorn scabbard retains
100% of the factory lacquer and gilding to the shell
and oak leaf suspension bands. Scabbard throat is
complete with two dome-head retaining screws as
pictured on page 266 of the above reference. EX++/Near
MINT (25519) $8,500.
