Gilded brass hilt fittings show minor surface wear
to highlights with portions of the factory gilding
remaining in the recesses of the Lüneschloss
eagle/swastika pommel and fouled anchor crossguard
with large pattern quillon block pictured on page
304 of the above reference. Medium orange, age toned,
solid celluloid grip has hairline cracks on lower
obverse/reverse adjacent to crossguard and upper
obverse adjacent to pommel, with a small chip on
upper reverse, Grip is complete with tight twisted
brass wire wrap. Plain, plated, double-fullered
blade grades EX+ showing minor surface wear/gray
speckling and one tiny nick to right cutting edge,
but no pitting or damage to tip. Blade is complete
with dark brow/black leather buffer pad. Dent-free,
gilded brass, hammered scabbard shows minor age
patina to highlights with much of the factory gold
frosting remaining in the recesses of the hammered
pattern on the scabbard shell, as well as the undamaged
lower ball and well detailed oak leaf pattern suspension
bands. Nice Lüneschloss example that is pictured
on pages 278-281 of "Deutsche Marinedolche"
