      2nd Model Navy Dagger w/Plain Blade. Carl Eickhorn, over the shoulder squirrel TM. Gold wash over gray metal hilt fittings show light surface wear to highlights with much gold wash remaining on the well detailed eagle & swastika pommel and crossguard. There is one hairline crack on the upper obverse pommel at the base of the eagle's head. Off-white celluloid-over-wood grip is perfect with no cracks or chips and is complete with tight twisted wire wrap. Plain plated double-fullered blade grades excellent++ showing only light surface wear/runner marks and one tiny crimp to the tip of the blade but no lifting, pitting, or nicks to the cutting edges. Blade is complete with light brown/orange felt blade buffer pad. Gilted brass scabbard shows light surface wear with much factory lacquer and gilting remaining and with several faint depressions to the obverse scabbard as well as to the lower tip. Dagger is complete with Near MINT aluminum portepee in correct reef knot tie. Eickhorn Navy daggers with plain blades are much less common than the normally encountered Navy daggers with double-etched blades. Nice later production dagger. Exc+ (26471) $995. HOLD
