Postal Leader Dagger. Paul Weyersberg, sword inside wreath double oval TM. Nickel-plated hilt fitting show light surface wear minor surface wear to pommel and stylized eagle crossguard, but no lifting or peeling to plating nor damage to black enameled swastikas on the quillon block. Underside of crossguard is not "DRP" stamped nor numbered. Black wooden grip shows light surface wear to lacquered finish, but with no cracks or chips and with silver-plated Postal eagle properly pinned to obverse grip. Plated blade grades Near MINT, showing minor runner marks, but no gray shadowing, pitting or nicks to blade cutting edge, and is complete with black leather blade buffer pad. Dent-free steel scabbard retains virtually 100% of the original black enamel, showing only a few surface scratches/minor crazing, but no loss of paint. Dent-free nickel-plated upper, center, and lower fittings show light surface wear and faint age speckling, primarily to lower fitting. Fittings are complete with undamaged retaining screws. Nickel-plated chain hanger with 9 upper & 11 upper rings, shows minor age and is complete with "D.R.G.M." marked nickel-plated clip. Nice example recently obtained from an advanced collection in Germany. Near MINT (24246) $4,250.
