The ebony wood handle has not cracks or chips and contains some original lacquer. The postal eagle is perfect and correctly affixed to the grip. The center ridge blade contains nearly 100% cross grain with no nicks or bumps and a perfect point. There are a few dark age spots on both sides right below the crossguard. The leather buffer is in place. The scabbard paint is 100% and the nickel silver fittings have no dents or dings. The scabbard mouth shows minor chipping. The scabbard fittings are mounted with the correct flush mounted screws. The Ex + chain hanger is completed by a DRGM belt snap. A post war portepee completes this dagger. A BEAUTY.
