 RAD Officer's Hewer w/Hangers. Carl Julius Krebs, Solingen, crowned cursive "K" within single-oval TM. Polished aluminum hilt fittings show light surface wear with portions of factory darkening remaining in the recesses of the eagle head pommel, incised motif on ferrule and crossguard with RAD wheat/spade/swastika emblem on obverse langet. White grip plates show light surface wear with one small chip adjacent to lower obverse edge of pommel. Polished blade grades EX+ showing light surface wear/runner marks with light gray shadowing to obverse/reverse and several tiny nicks visible only on the obverse cutting edge. Deeply etched motto retains 100% of the light gray background frosting. Blade is complete with a seldom seen brown leather buffer pad. Silver-plated scabbard shows age patina with portions of factory darkening remaining in the detail of the scroll-work and wheat stalk design on the upper obverse scabbard as well as the pebbled panels. There is minor depression to the obverse and reverse scabbard shell and wear to the plating on the scabbard tip. Dagger is complete with brown leather hangers in EX++ condition complete with proper pebbled upper clip, buckles and slides as well as the oak lower clips. The sliding tongue on the lower strap clip is slightly damaged, but still functions properly. Reverse of the hangers shows wear/mothing to the original mouse-gray felt backing. Nice original combination recently obtained in Germany EX+/EX++ (26113) $2,595.
