1st Model RLB Officer Dagger. Paul Weyersberg, sword
inside wreath double oval TM. This uncleaned example
was recently veteran acquired at a Midwestern motel
buy. Uncleaned nickel-silver hilt fittings retain
portions of factory frosting/lacquer with age patina
where frosting has worn away from pommel and crossguard
with RLB pattern eagle on obverse. Black leather
grip shows light surface wear with one small tear
to leather on lower reverse adjacent to crossguard.
RLB silver starburst retains portions of factory
lacquer in recesses of star with no damage to the
blue enamel RLB logo and is properly pinned to the
obverse grip. Plated blade grades excellent+ showing
light surface wear/runner marks and uniform faint
gray shadowing on obverse and reverse with no nicks
or damage to the cutting edges. Blade is complete
with black leather blade buffer pad. Black leather-covered
scabbard shows minor surface wear/surface depressions
to leather with some loss of leather primarily to
the lower edge of scabbard. Uncleaned nickel-silver
scabbard fittings retain portions of factory frosting/lacquer
with age patina where frosting has worn away from
fittings. All four scabbard screws are present and
appear unturned and undamaged. Dagger is without
the dagger hanger. Nice uncleaned veteran acquired
example of an extremely rare model dagger. Exc/Exc+
