Early SA Dagger.Gebrüder
Heller, Schmalkalden, anchor within double circle
TM. The Gebrüder Heller Firm was located in
the town of Schmalkalden located in the Thüringer-Wald
NE of Frankfurt. Nickel-silver hilt fittings show
light surface wear/age patina with lower crossguard
group marked "Sa " (Sachsen). Medium brown,
oak-grained wooden grip shows light surface wear
with no hairline cracks or chips, and with early
quality grip-to-crossguard fit, and with silver
grip eagle and SA insert properly inset. Mirror
polished blade grades EX++ showing light surface
wear/runner marks, but no but no graying, pitting
or nicks to cutting edges. Deeply etched motto retains
approximately 100% of the dark gray, almost black
background frosting. Dent-free steel scabbard shows
light surface wear and surface oxidation, but no
major damage to the brown anodization. Nickel-silver
scabbard fittings show minor surface wear/age patina
with unturned scabbard screws with a depression
to the reverse upper fitting and scabbard throat.
