Uncleaned Early SA Dagger. Aesculap
above snake wrapped around a crowned pole above
Solingen within a double-circle TM. As stated on
page 52 of The Sword And Knife Makers Of Germany
1850-2000 Volume 1 by the late Anthony Carter, "SA
and NSKK daggers were produced with the round Aesculap
marking". Uncleaned, nickel-silver hilt fittings
show light surface wear and much yellow age patina
with reverse lower crossguard SA Group marked "Sw"
(Sudwest). Medium brown oak grained wooden grip
with superb, early production quality grip-to-crossguard
fit shows surface wear with a few minor depression
and a tiny chip to the lower right obverse, but
no cracks. Silver grip eagle and SA insert are properly
inset. Early quality, mirror polished blade grades
EX showing surface wear/runner marks gray shadowing
and speckling, but no pitting or nicks to cutting
edges. Deeply etched motto retains 100% of the light
gray background frosting. Dent-free, steel scabbard
shows uniform speckling/crazing to the brown anodization
and factory lacquer. Nickel silver scabbard fittings
with unturned screws, show surface wear/age patina
with two faint depressions to the obverse lower
fitting and a small depression to the underside
