Early SA Dagger w/3-pc Hanger.
J.P. Sauer & Sohn, Suhl, man holding staff inside
double oval TM. Nickel-silver hilt fittings show
light surface wear/age patina with lower reverse
crossguard SA Group marked, "BO" (Bayerische
Ostmark). Medium brown, oak grained wooden grip
with superb, early production quality grip-to-crossguard
fit shows light surface wear with minor surface
pecking/depressions, but no hairline cracks, chips
or damage, and with silver grip eagle and SA insert
properly inset. Early, mirror polished blade grades
EX++ showing light surface wear/runner marks and
light gray shadowing/spotting on lower obverse/reverse
where runners have rested against the blade, but
no pitting or nicks to cutting edges. Deeply etched
motto retains 100% of the light gray background
frosting. Dent-free, steel scabbard retains approximately
98% of the brown anodization and portions of the
lacquer with minor crazing. Nickel-silver scabbard
fittings show light surface wear/age patina with
only one faint depression to the underside of the
lower ball. Scabbard screws are undamaged and appear
to have never been removed. Brown leather 3-pc hanger
grades EX+ showing light wear/age to leather, but
no rips or tears and is complete with early nickel-silver
buckle and unmarked early clip. Nice early Sauer
example! EX+/EX++ (26077) $1,650.
