Water Protection Police Dagger w/o Grip Emblem. AWS Scales,w/script Alcoso horizontal TM. The brass hilt fittings show wear/age/patina, but no damage to the standard waves pommel, Alcoso pattern crossguard with diamond motif on the reverse panel and a push button which shows wear to the brass plating. The leather covered grip shows wear/age, scuffing and fading and is complete with twisted were wrap as used by Alcoso. The obverse grip contains two holes for the attachment of the Police grip eagle which is missing. Plated, double-etched blade grades EX+ showing minor surface wear/runner marks, but no gray speckling/shadowing, and no nicks to the cutting edges nor damage to tip. Blade retains 100% of the light gray background frosting in the fouled anchor and sailing ship motif etch pattern and is complete with red felt blade buffer pad. The gilded brass, lightning bolt scabbard shows minor wear/age/patina with several small dings on the obverse shell and is complete with two steel, flat-head throat retaining screws as used by Alcoso on later production daggers. The scabbard features the Alcoso style sharply pointed acanthus leaves on the lower scabbard shell.The original silver portepee, in correct "reef knot" tie, shows light surface wear, but no fraying.
