Uncleaned Army Officer Dagger. A. Schuttelhofer, Solingen (Asso, two horse heads) TM. Rare Army maker. Silver-plated hilt fittings show surface wear to upper edge of pommel, with dark age patina to pommel oak leaves, ferrule and crossguard. Light orange celluloid grip shows virtually no wear, no chips, and one faint (1/8” long) hairline crack adjacent to pommel. Plated, mirror finish blade grades excellent+/excellent++, with light runner marks and some light gray shadowing. Dent-free scabbard shows excellent detail, light age crazing and overall dark age patina. Nice, uncleaned example by RARE maker! Exc+ (19074) $595.
