Uncleaned Army Officer Dagger w/Portepee & Metal Eickhorn Control Tag. Carl Eickhorn, etched squirrel holding sword TM. Silver-plated hilt fittings virtually no wear to the well detailed oak leaf embellished pommel and crossguard with Eickhorn 2nd pattern eagle with much factory darkening remaining in the recesses of the pommel oak leaves as well as the crossguard eagle/swastika. Medium yellow grip shows nice age toning in the recesses of the swirls and has one tiny nick on the lower left edge, but no cracks or other damage. Polished blade grades EX+ showing light surface wear/runner marks with a few gray specks and scratches. The right edge of blade as approximately 10 tiny nicks to cutting edge and is complete with black leather blade buffer pad. Dent-free, silver-plated scabbard retains virtually 100% of factory lacquer and is complete with the thick throat and reverse, center mounted, flat-head screw normally associated with Eickhorn 2nd pattern Army daggers. Dagger is complete with an EX+ 42cm portepee showing dark (almost brown) aging to the cord and minor wear to the stem and acorn. Attached to the upper scabbard ring is a metal Eicknorn Quality Control/Issue tag without the paper but with only minor wear to the red enamel. One strand of the attaching cord is broken.
