Uncleaned Army Officer Dagger. No maker. Although unmarked, this dagger this dagger exhibits features associated with WKC produced Army daggers. Silver-plated hilt fittings show minor surface wear/age patina/factory lacquer to the oak leaf embellished pommel and 2nd pattern WKC crossguard with "tomahawk" style beak design. Medium orange, solid celluloid grip shows light surface wear with no hairline cracks or chips, and is nicely age toned in the recesses of the grip swirls. Polished, unmarked blade grades EX++/Near MINT showing only faint surface wear/runner marks where runners have rested on the flats of the blade, but no pitting or nicks to cutting edges and is complete with brown leather blade buffer pad. Dent-free, "generic", silver-plated steel scabbard shows light surface wear with dark age patina/factory darkening in recesses of pebbled shell with minor speckling to edges with a faint depression to lower shell. Scabbard features the well-defined oak leaf scabbard bands and reverse, center mounted throat-retaining screw as found on "generic" scabbards. EX+/EX++ (23796) $625.
