Officer Dagger by RARE Maker w/Deluxe Hangers. H.
Kolping Solingen, beer stein with letters "HKS"
in center within double oval TM. As stated on page
254 of, The Sword and Knife Makers of Germany
1850 - 2000 Volume by Anthony Carter, "the
Hans Kolping, Alpina - Werk firm produced some edged
weapons during the Third Reich to include, Diver's
Knives, Army Daggers and 1st Model Luftwaffe Daggers".
Silver-plated hilt fittings show minor wear/dark,
uncleaned age patina to the oak leaf embellished
pommel, ferrule and "generic" crossguard
with the step-down curve in the eagle brow area.
Medium yellow, solid celluloid grip shows minor
surface wear with no cracks or chips. Polished blade
grades Exc. showing minor surface wear/runner marks,
uniform gray shadowing two tiny nicks to right cutting
edge, and is complete with dark brown leather blade
buffer pad. Dent-free, silver-plated, scabbard showing
only light wear/age is constructed with a thin throat
and without retaining screws. Hangers with deluxe
lower clips grade Exc++ with only minor age/wear
to fabric and fittings. Exc+ (24261) $850.
