Uncleaned Army Officer Dagger w/Portepee. WKC knight's helmet TM. Silver-plated hilt fittings show light surface wear/age patina to the oak leaf embellished pommel and generic pattern crossguard with small slope to the brow area between the upper head and beak of the eagle. Light yellow, solid celluloid grip has one tiny nick/chip adjacent to pommel, but no hairline cracks. Polished blade grades Exc+ showing surface wear/runner marks with gray speckling on obverse/reverse, but no nicks to cutting edges and is complete with brown leather blade buffer pad. Dent-free, silver-plated steel scabbard shows minor surface wear with portions of factory frosting remaining on edges of shell.. Scabbard features the post-1937 pattern single side-mounted scabbard throat retention screw as used by WKC. Dagger is complete with an Exc+ 42cm portepee which has a repair to cord adjacent to the stem. This repair apparently caused the cord to be shortened and necessitated tying the portepee in a unique style around the lower portion of the grip. Nice WKC example recently obtained in Germany.
