Uncleaned Army Officer Dagger w/Portepee & Deluxe Hangers. Carl Eickhorn, etched squirrel holding sword TM. Silver-plated hilt fittings show age patina and portions of factory frosting/lacquer to oak leaf embellished pommel and well detailed crossguard with Eickhorn 2nd pattern eagle. Dark orange grip with nice age toning in the recesses of the grip swirls, shows minor surface wear with no cracks or other damage. Polished blade grades EX++/Near MINT showing faint surface wear/runner marks and a tiny scuff to lower right cutting edge near tip, but no pitting and is complete with brown leather blade buffer pad. Silver-plated scabbard shows age patina with one small depression on lower obverse with several areas of oxidation to scabbard shell but no lifting to plating. Scabbard is complete with the thick throat and reverse, center mounted, flat-head screw normally associated with Eickhorn 2nd pattern Army daggers. Dagger is complete with an Exc. 42cm portepee showing wear/age primarily to cord on reverse of crossguard and deluxe hangers in Exc+ condition showing minor wear to fabric and age to heavy deluxe fittings.
