Uncleaned Army Officer's Dagger w/Dark Orange Grip & Metal Factory Control Tag. Carl Eickhorn, etched squirrel holding sword TM. Silver-plated hilt fittings show dark, gun-metal gray, age patina to well detailed oak leaf embellished pommel, ferrule and crossguard with Eickhorn 2nd pattern eagle on obverse langet. Dark orange, solid celluloid grip is perfect, with no cracks or chips and age toned in the recesses of the grip swirls. Polished blade grades Near MINT/MINT showing only light surface wear/runner marks to flats of blade, but no pitting, graying or nicks to cutting edges, and is complete with brown leather blade buffer pad. Dent-free, silver-plated scabbard shows dark age patina, matching the hilt fittings, to shell with portions of factory lacquer remaining on upper scabbard and throat. Scabbard is complete with the thick throat and reverse, center mounted, flat-head screw normally associated with Eickhorn 2nd pattern Army daggers. Attached to the upper scabbard ring is an original metal Eickhorn quality control/issue tag complete with undamaged paper insert and virtually 100% of the original red enamel.
