Uncleaned Army Officer Dagger w/Portepee, Deluxe Hangers & RARE Teardrop Belt Loop. Carl Eickhorn, etched squirrel holding sword TM. Silver-plated hilt fittings show dark age patina with portions of original factory frosting/lacquer remaining on the oak leaf pommel, as well as the crossguard with well detailed Eickhorn 2nd pattern eagle. Medium yellow, solid celluloid grip is perfect with faint age toning in the recesses of the grip swirls, but no cracks or chips. Polished blade grades Exc++/Near MINT showing minor runner marks to the flats of blade and a few minor gray specks, but no pitting or nicks to cutting edges. Blade is complete with dark brown leather blade buffer pad. Dent-free, silver-plated steel scabbard with 2nd style flatter type scabbard bands shows dark age patina with portions of original factory frosting/lacquer remaining in the pebbled panels. Scabbard is complete with the thick throat and one reverse, center mounted, flat-head screw normally associated with Eickhorn 2nd pattern Army daggers. The original 42cm portepee grades Exc++ showing minor wear w/Exc+/Exc++ deluxe hangers with heavy, oak leaf embellished fittings. Attached to the hangers is a RARE teardrop belt loop as illustrated in the Röder & Cie. Solingen Catalog as item "132 ". A photocopy of this illustration is included with the dagger.
