Officer's Dagger with Double Etched Blade.
Carl Julius Krebs, Solingen, crowned cursive K within
single-oval TM (RARE Army maker). Silver plated
hilt fittings show light wear/age/patina with much
factory darkening remaining in the recesses of the
pommel and generic crossguard. The dark yellow handle
has two small hairline cracks at the pommel and
one, ½ inch chip missing from the grip adjacent
to the reverse ferrule. The nickel-plated Krebs
Double Etched Heer Blade is bright and grades EX+
with thinning to the plating near the point outside
of the etch. The obverse blade contains double floral
design with a centrally positioned Heer eagle with
oak leaf sprigs under each wing while the reverse
blade features the full length double floral pattern
etch. Etch on both obverse and reverse is Near MINT
with complete background frosting and needle-like
point. The silver plated pebble scabbard retains
90% of it silver color with the scabbard throat
is affixed with one flush mounted retaining screw.
The dagger is complete an original to the piece
portepee. A very scarce Etched Army dagger. EX+
