Personalized
Army Officer Dagger w/Portepee, Deluxe Hangers &
Documentation. A C S scales (Alcoso) TM. Silver
plated hilt fittings show dark, uncleaned age patina
with much factory darkening remaining on the pommel
and 1937-1940 pattern Alcoso crossguard. The reverse
crossguard is personalized with the name, "Beyschlag"
deeply engraved in Gothic letters. Research in the
1939 Army Rank List reveals a Leutnant Beyschlag
assigned as Adjutant in Nebelabteilung 2 (2nd Smoke
Battalion) garrisoned in Bremen. In the 1944-45
Rank List Herr Beyschlag is serving as a Major in
same unit. The orange handle has no cracks or chips..
The blade is bright and Ex +. The blade has only
minor wear/age/runner marks. The blade shows 100%
of cross grain. The obverse blade features the retailer's
mark, William Günther, Dresden in block letters.
The dent-free, silver-plated pebble scabbard shows
dark age patina matching the hilt fittings, with
a faint depression to the lower obverse/reverse
shell, but no lifting to plating. The scabbard throat
is affixed by two flat head side mounted retaining
screws. The portepee and deluxe hangers grade EX+
showing light wear/age, but no rips or tears to
fabric or damage to the hanger metal fittings. Nice
personalized Army Dagger complete with Rank List
documentation. EX+/EX++ (25560) $1,345. HOLD
