     Personalized Army Officer Dagger w/Portepee, Deluxe Hangers & Documentation. A C S scales (Alcoso) TM. Silver plated hilt fittings show dark, uncleaned age patina with much factory darkening remaining on the pommel and 1937-1940 pattern Alcoso crossguard. The reverse crossguard is personalized with the name, "Beyschlag" deeply engraved in Gothic letters. Research in the 1939 Army Rank List reveals a Leutnant Beyschlag assigned as Adjutant in Nebelabteilung 2 (2nd Smoke Battalion) garrisoned in Bremen. In the 1944-45 Rank List Herr Beyschlag is serving as a Major in same unit. The orange handle has no cracks or chips.. The blade is bright and Ex +. The blade has only minor wear/age/runner marks. The blade shows 100% of cross grain. The obverse blade features the retailer's mark, William Günther, Dresden in block letters. The dent-free, silver-plated pebble scabbard shows dark age patina matching the hilt fittings, with a faint depression to the lower obverse/reverse shell, but no lifting to plating. The scabbard throat is affixed by two flat head side mounted retaining screws. The portepee and deluxe hangers grade EX+ showing light wear/age, but no rips or tears to fabric or damage to the hanger metal fittings.
