Uncleaned Army Officer's Dagger w/Portepee & Hangers. Robt. Klaas, Solingen stamped kissing cranes TM. Silver plated hilt fittings show light surface wear/dark uncleaned age patina to the hand enhanced, oak-leaf embellished pommel and later pattern Klaas crossguard as pictured on page 47 lower, of Exploring the Dress Daggers of the German Army by Thomas T. Wittmann. The reverse upper edge of the crossguard shows some minor bubbling, but no lifting to plating. The typical longer, nine sectioned Klaas pattern, medium yellow, solid celluloid grip is perfect with no wear, cracks or chips. The high quality, nickel-plated blade grades Near MINT showing only faint runner marks, but no graying, speckling, lifting or nicks to cutting edges. Blade is complete with dark brown leather buffer pad. Dent-free, silver plated scabbard shows light surface wear/dark uncleaned age patina matching the hilt fittings minor age patina to pebbled panels with asterisk to cover the molding seam in the suspension bands which is standard for Klaas produced daggers. The 42cm portepee grades VG showing much wear/fraying with loose cords to acorn crown. The standard hangers grade EX+/EX++ showing are to fabric and fittings, but no rips or tears.
