Uncleaned Army Officer Dagger w/Portepee & Deluxe Hangers. Carl Eickhorn, etched squirrel holding sword TM. Silver-plated hilt fittings show age patina with portions of factory frosting/lacquer remaining on the oak leaf embellished pommel and well detailed crossguard with Eickhorn 2nd pattern eagle. Medium orange grip light age nice age toning in the recesses of the grip swirls, shows minor surface wear with no cracks or other damage. Polished blade grades EX++ showing faint surface faint surface wear/runner marks and minor gray shadowing/speckling, but no pitting or nicks to cutting edges, and is complete with tan leather blade buffer pad. Dent-free, silver-plated scabbard shows spots of age patina with and minor age crazing to lacquer, with much factory frosting remaining. Scabbard is complete with the beveled edge suspension bands, thick throat and reverse, center mounted, flat-head screw normally associated with Eickhorn Army daggers. The 42cm portepee grades EX++/Near MINT showing only faint wear/age while the deluxe hangers grade EX++ showing minor wear to fabric and age to heavy deluxe fittings. Nice Eickhorn combination.
