Uncleaned Army Officer's Dagger w/Portepee & Deluxe Hangers. Carl Eickhorn, etched squirrel holding sword TM. Silver-plated hilt fittings show dark, gun-metal gray, age patina to well detailed oak leaf embellished pommel and crossguard with Eickhorn 2nd pattern eagle. Medium orange, solid-orange celluloid grip showing nice age toning, darker on the obverse, has three tiny hairline cracks adjacent to the ferrule, but only one visible above the portepee on the reverse. Polished blade grades EX++/Near MINT showing faint surface wear/runner marks with some faint gray shadowing and a few tiny specks, but no nicks to cutting edges and is complete with brown/black leather buffer pad. Dent-free, silver-plated scabbard shows dark age patina matching the hilt fittings and is complete with with the thick throat and reverse, center mounted, flat-head screw normally associated with Eickhorn 2nd pattern Army daggers. The 42cm portepee in correct tie grades Near MINTshowing virtually no wear/age cord or acorn. The deluxe hangers show much wear and some fraying to fabric with age to the deluxe silver plated fittings. EX++/Near MINT (26105) $945.
