Government Official's Dagger.Alcoso,
1940-style vertical ACS scales Solingen TM. This
nice Government Official's Dagger was recently obtained
in Germany. The silver-plated hilt fittings show
light surface wear to the highlights with portions
of factory darkening remaining in the recesses of
the well-detailed eagle head pommel, ferrule and
crossguard, with right-facing Government Official
pattern eagle. The dagger appears to have been dissembled
but with only minor scratching to pommel nut holes
and top of the eagle's head. The simulated mother-of-pearl
grip plates show light age toning with one tiny
nick to the lower edge of the reverse plate, but
no cracks. The plated blade grades EX+/EX++ showing
minor surface wear/runner marks with minor gray
speckling on the obverse where runners have rested
and minor pitting on the lower reverse near tip,
but no nicks to cutting edges. Blade is without
buffer pad. Dent-free, silver-plated scabbard shows
only minor surface wear with portions of factory
darkening remaining in the recesses of the well-detailed
pebbled scabbard body and the oak leaf suspension
bands. For more information on Government Official
sidearms see pages 44 - 61 of Collecting the Edged
Weapons of the Third Reich, Volume V. HOLD
NOTE: JRB&M

inspect for internal markings! EX+/EX++ (26126)
