Third Reich Hunting Hirschfanger. No maker. All of the nickel-silver hilt fittings, including the fluted clamshell, are in perfect condition with dark age patina. Some lacquer remains in the recesses. Stag grip is perfect with no chips or cracks. The Third Reich Hunting Association emblem is properly pinned to the obverse grip. Double-etched blade grades excellent+ w/hunting scenes of boars, hunting dogs and stags. Blade shows normal wear w/one minor nick on the cutting edge. Scabbard is made of smooth leather over a metal shell. Scabbard fittings are silver. Scabbard grades excellent+ with traces of the original green dye on the reverse. There are a few minor surface scratches. Scabbard fittings are numbered "42" and are held in place by recessed screws. There are a few minor specks of lifting to the reverse upper fitting.
