  Deluxe Senior Forestry Hirschfänger. No maker. Although unmarked, this exact pattern Hirschfänger is illustrated in the WKC sales catalog as their pattern Nr. 1067. Gilted aluminum hilt fittings show light surface wear to highlights of the fire gilting on the oak leaf embellished knuckle-bow and crossguard, and to clamshell which features a central boar's head surrounded by an oak leaf & acorn motif. Off-white nicely-toned celluloid grip plates show light surface wear with no cracks or chips. Both obverse & reverse grip plates feature three acorns with oak leaves showing only minor surface wear. Plated double-etched blade measuring 9 ¾" in length grades excellent++, showing light surface wear and a few specks of light gray shadowing. Is complete w/black leather blade buffer pad. Reverse blade features scenes of hunting dogs attacking a wild boar, while the reverse scene features a running stag and doe. Both etched panels retain 100% of the light gray background frosting. Dent-free leather scabbard shows only minor surface wear with no rips, tears, or creases, and no damage to the reverse stitching. Upper/lower gilted brass fittings show light surface wear to original lacquer w/one spot of rubbing to the reverse lower fitting. Obverse lower fitting features an engraved oak leaf & acorn motif, with heavy cast motif to the frog lug. Exc+/Exc++ (21657) $1,895.
