This deluxe pattern Hirschfanger is illustrated in the Eickhorn Kundendienst as Nr. 1713 with deluxe scabbard Nr. 711. Gilted aluminum hilt fittings show light surface wear/age with some minor speckling primarily to the upper spine/pommel. Hilt features oak leaf embellished knuckle-bow and crossguard with hoof-shaped quillon, and clamshell featuring an Auerhahn standing on a tree branch. White celluloid grip plates show light surface wear with nice age toning, but no cracks or chips. Both obverse and reverse grip plates retain their three gilt acorns with oak leaves showing minor wear but no damage. Plated double-etched blade grades Near MINT, showing only light surface wear with no gray shadowing, lifting, or nicks to cutting edge. Blade etch features hunting scenes with stag and doe, hunting hounds, boar, and hunter. Blade is complete with green felt blade buffer pad. Black leather scabbard shows only light surface wear with no creases, rips, tears, or damage to the reverse stitching. Gilted brass hilt fittings show light surface wear with 100% of the gilting and much of the factory lacquer remaining with both retaining staples present. Upper fitting is complete with acorn style frog lug, while the obverse lower fitting features a detailed hunting scene with stag in a forest setting.
