Obverse ferrule features a raised Eickhorn squirrel while the reverse features a running doe. An example of this Hirschfanger is listed in the Eickhorn Kundendienst catalog as Nr. 1212. Dark brown stag horn grip plates are perfect with no cracks or chips and with all six acorn & oak leaf emblems present. Plated double etched blade grades Near MINT showing only faint surface wear/runner marks with no lifting or damage to the cutting edge and is complete with green felt blade buffer pad. Etch pattern features scenes of Auerhahns, stag and doe, hunting dogs and boar as shown in the Kundendiest catalog. Black leather crease-free scabbard shows only light surface wear with no rips or tears nor damage to the reverse stitching. Dent-free gilted brass hilt fittings retain virtually 100% of the factory gilting and are complete with both retaining staples. Hirschfänger is complete with original green fabric portepee showing wear/age primarily to the crown of the acorn. Attached to the scabbard is an original black leather frog in excellent++ condition showing minor wear to the leather as well as to the green felt backing.
