  RARE Deluxe Senior Forestry Hirschfänger w/Eagle & Swastika Emblem. No Maker TM. An illustration of this pattern Hirschfänger appears on page 21 of the 1941 F.W. Höller sales catalog as Nr. 34, "Fein Ziselierter Hirschfänger mit Hoheitszeichen für Oberförster". Gilded aluminum hilt fittings show minor wear to the outer edge of the knuckle-bow and lower edge of clamshell , with virtually 100% of gilding remaining in the recesses of the oak leaf embellished knuckle-bow, crossguard, and Höller pattern Nr, 35 clamshell with wounded stag in forest setting. Obverse ferrule features a cast eagle and swastika (Hoheitszeichen) with a cast diving falcon with prey on the reverse ferrule. The off-white, solid celluloid grip plates show only minor wear/age toning with no cracks or chips. All three gold washed acorns with oak leaves are present, on the obverse and reverse. Polished, double-etched blade measuring 30cm in length grades Ex++ showing light surface runner marks with minor gray speckling on the center reverse, but no pitting or nicks to cutting edge and no damage to blade tip. Etch pattern features floral motifs surrounding scenes of Auerhahn, stag, doe, boar, rabbit, fox with prey and central motif of a stag head above a shooting target. Blade is complete with a green blade buffer pad with 100% of the light gray background frosting remaining etched motifs as well as the laurel leaf motif on the blade spine. Black leather scabbard shows light wear/age but no rips, tears, creases or damage to the reverse stitching. Gold washed scabbard fittings retain virtually 100% of their original fire gilding, and are complete with undamaged retaining staples. Hirschfänger is complete with brown leather v-notch frog with upper nickel spring-clip in EX+ condition. EX++ (25553) $2,850. SOLD
