Deluxe Senior Forestry Hirschfänger w/Ivory Grip. Initials ACS with scales EARLY TM. This deluxe Hirschfänger with ivory grip plates was recently obtained in Germany. Gilded brass hilt fittings retain virtually 100% of the fire gilding to the polished highlights and to the muted honey gold frosting in the recesses of the oak leaf embellished knuckle-bow, ferrule, crossguard and clamshell which features a hunting dog and oak leaves. Genuine ivory grip plates show faint surface wear with minor age toning/age striations, but no cracks or chips. Both obverse and reverse plates feature three gilded acorns virtually 100% of the muted honey gold frosting in the recesses of the oak leaves. Plated blade grades EX+ showing minor surface wear with some dark gray shadowing/spotting to both spine and lower blade edges, but no lifting or nicks to cutting edges, and is complete with original green felt blade buffer pad. Etch pattern features scenes of hunting dog, foxes, stag and doe surrounded by trees and floral design with no only minor speckling to the light gray background frosting. Black leather scabbard shows minor surface wear with a few nicks to the leather but no rips, tears, or creases, and no damage to the reverse stitching. Standard, dent-free scabbard fittings show light surface wear/minor age patina with much factory gilding remaining and no damage to the lower ball. Reverse fittings are complete with tight, undamaged retaining staples. Nice Alcoso example w/genuine ivory grip plates and superb gilding. EX+/EX++ (26041) $1,995.
