Dark gray finished hilt fittings retain virtually 100% of the factory finish on the generic pommel with gilted swastikas (approximately 90% of gilting remains), well detailed Eickhorn crossguard with Eickhorn style incised oak leaves on the upper surface of the quillons and wide smooth border around the pebbled reverse on the reverse. Medium yellow celluloid grip is perfect with no cracks or chips and is complete with tight springy aluminum wire wrap. Plated blade grades EX++/Near MINT showing minor surface wear/runner marks and one tiny nick to right edge, but no lifting or pitting complete with black leather blade buffer pad. Dent-free steel scabbard retains virtually 100% of the original factory gray finish and is complete with well-detailed Eickhorn pattern suspension bands. Scabbard throat is the thicker variety usually found on Eickhorn examples and retained by two unturned, headless screws. Attached to the upper scabbard ring is a metal Eickhorn Quality Control/Issue tag without the paper insert, but with only minor wear to the red enamel on tag. Dagger is complete with 23cm portepee in EX++ condition showing minor wear, but no tears or fraying. Nice Eickhorn produced 2nd Model Luftwaffe dagger complete with original issue tag.
