2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger w/Voos Pattern Double-Etched
Blade. No maker. Although unmarked, this dagger
exhibits all of the textbook features associated
with Voos produced double-etched blades: Impressive
etch motifs, contrasting frosted panels, 2nd pattern
Luftwaffe eagle with laurel sprigs, and heavy nickel
plating. Aluminum hilt fittings show light surface
wear with excellent detail to the WKC pattern pommel
with pebbled background surfaces and crossguard
with relief-style oak leaves featuring left-leaf-over-right-leaf
motif on the upper surface of the quillons. Off-white,
plaster filled, celluloid grip shows only minor
surface wear with no cracks or chip and is complete
with twisted wire wrap. High quality, plated, double-etched
blade grades Exc+/Exc++ showing faint runner marks
with a few small specks of lifting near tip, but
no nicks to cutting edges. Etched panels retain
100% of the light gray background frosting and blade
is complete with dark blue/black leather blade buffer
pad. WKC pattern, steel scabbard retains much of
the original factory gray finish with one tiny depression
to lower left edge of shell. Scabbard suspension
bands show superb detail to the oak leaf motif with
pebbled background surfaces and a single, side-mounted
retaining screw as found on WKC produced scabbards.
Nice example of a 2nd model Luftwaffe dagger w/Voos
pattern double-etched blade. Exc++ (24486) $4,200.
