2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger w/Gold Pommel Swastikas. SMF, seated king TM. This textbook example features the natural aluminum hilt fittings and factory darkened scabbard with natural aluminum suspension bands/rings found on SMF produced daggers. Well detailed aluminum hilt fittings show minor surface wear to pommel and crossguard with unique SMF oak leaf pattern on the upper surface of the quillon. Pommel swastikas retain approximately 99% of the factory gold wash. Medium yellow, solid celluloid grip shows minor surface wear with one tiny hairline crack on the upper obverse adjacent to the pommel with one tiny chip on the lower obverse adjacent to the ferrule where last strand of SMF style, spongy aluminum wire is secured to grip. Plated grades Exc/Exc+ showing runner marks on the flats of the blade and gray shadowing, and one tiny nick to lower left cutting edge. Reverse blade is Waffen Amt marked and is complete with blue leather blade buffer pad as used by SMF. Dent-free, factory darkened, steel scabbard shows light surface wear to the factory finish, and is complete with two flush, side mounted scabbard throat retaining screws as found on SMF produced daggers.
