2nd Model
Luftwaffe Dagger w/Dark Orange Grip & Hangers.
F. W. Höller, thermometer inside double oval
TM. As stated on page 212 of Exploring The Dress
Daggers of the German Luftwaffe by Thomas T. Wittmann,
the F. W. Höller firm purchased their parts
from both WKC and other casters. This dagger is
an example of this practice. Polished aluminum hilt
fittings show light surface wear with portions of
the factory darkening in the recesses of the well
detailed SMF pattern pommel and crossguard. Upper
surface of quillons feature the SMF pattern incised
oak leaf motif. Pommel swastikas appear to have
never been gilded. Dark orange, solid celluloid
grip shows minor surface wear with one tiny chip
on lower obverse adjacent to ferrule, but no cracks
or nicks and is complete with tight twisted wire
wrap. Polished blade grades EX showing runner marks/wear,
surface scratches, minor gray shadowing and a few
small nicks to cutting edges. Blade is complete
with black leather blade buffer pad. Eickhorn pattern
steel scabbard shows light surface wear with much
factory bluing remaining on shell and suspension
bands, and is complete with Eickhorn pattern thicker
throat and two side-mounted, headless retaining
screws. Standard hangers grade EX+ showing light
wear/age to fabric and fittings. EX/EX+ (25265)
$875.
