Model Luftwaffe Dagger w/Portepee.
Ernst Pack & Söhne G.m.b.H. Waffenfabrik,
Solingen, large Seigfried Waffen TM. Hilt fittings
retain much of the factory dark gray finish to the
E. Pack pattern pommel with pebbled design in the
area between the two circles bordering the swastika
with excellent detail to the pommel oak leaves and
to the WKC pattern crossguard with well detailed
eagle on obverse langet and left over right, relief-style
oak leaf motif the upper surface of quillons. Off-white,
plaster filled celluloid grip shows light surface
wear/age with no cracks or chips. There is, what
appears to be, a period repair to the tight springy
aluminum wire on the obverse adjacent to the ferrule
that is partially covered by the portepee. Plated
blade grades EX++ showing light surface wear/runner
marks with minor gray shadowing, but no pitting
or nicks to cutting edges, and is complete with
dark blue leather blade buffer pad. Dent-free steel
scabbard shows retains virtually 100% of the dark
gray factory finish with the scabbard throat retained
by two dome head screws as pictured on page 216
of Exploring The Dress Daggers of the German Luftwaffe
by Thomas T. Wittmann. The 23cm portepee grades
EX+ showing light wear/age, but no fraying. Nice
E. Pack example recently obtained from an Arizona
