RARE Personalized 1st Model Luftwaffe Dagger. Carl Eickhorn, etched squirrel-holding-sword TM. Silver-plated hilt fittings show wear/age to the pommel and crossguard, with pommel and crossguard swastikas that appear to have never been gilded. Blue leather covered grip shows minor surface wear and a few tiny surface nips to leather, and only minor loss of color, but no rips or tears, and is complete with tight triple twisted brass wire wrap. Plated, mirror finished, blade grades EX+/EX++ showing minor surface wear/light runner marks, but no pitting or nicks to the cutting edges, and is complete with blue leather buffer pad. The upper obverse blade features the personalization, "Flugzeugführer Heinrich Neuberger" in jeweler engraved, slanted black letters. On the upper reverse blade, above the trademark, is the jeweler engraved monogram consisting of an "N" within a wide "H" (Heinrich Neuberger). The dent-free scabbard shows light surface wear and a few minor surface depressions to the blue leather covering, but no nicks, scuffs or rips and is complete with dent-free upper, center and lower silver-plated fitting with light wear/age patina matching the hilt fittings, but no damage to the headless retaining screws. Nickel-silver chain hanger with 8 upper and13 lower rings shows only light surface wear/age patina with no damage to the connectors and is complete with early, unmarked nickel-silver clip.
